چکیده

Magnetic moments of baryons composed of light and strange quarks are computed for the first time through the only parameter of the model– string tension σ. For example, µ p = m p /c √ σ, µ Ω − = −µ p (1 + 3 4 m 2 s c 2 σ − 15 32 m 4 s c 4 σ 2) −1 , where magnetic moments are expressed in nuclear magnetons, m p is the proton mass, m s is the strange quark current mass, c = 0.957 – a constant which is caluculated in the paper. Resulting theoretical values differ from the experimental ones typically by about 10%. 1. Recently in a stimulating analysis of the hyperon static properties [1] H.J.Lipkin displayed remarkably successful relations connecting strange and nonstrange baryon magnetic moments and the corresponding quark masses ν u and ν s (in order to avoid similar notations for masses and magnetic moments we denote current quark masses by m k and dynamical, or constituent, quark masses by ν k). To understand why these relations so well agree with the experiment and to get insight into the problems encountered in semileptonic decays of baryons [1] one needs a dynamical approach which would enable one to express constituent masses of quarks and baryon magnetic moments in terms of a single QCD scale parameter. It is a purpose of the present letter to express the magnetic moments of baryons and constituent masses of the 1

QCD equalities for baryon current matrix elements.

An examination of the symmetries manifest in the QCD path integral for current matrix elements reveals various equalities among the quark sector contributions. QCD equalities among octet baryon magnetic moments lead to a determination of the disconnected sea-quark contribution to nucleon magnetic moments, which is the most reliable determination in the literature. Matching QCD equalities to rec...

Effects of perturbative exchanges in a QCD–string model

The QCD-string model for baryons derived by Simonov and used for the calculation of baryon magnetic moments in Ref. [1] is extended to include also perturbative gluon and meson exchanges. The mass spectrum of the baryon multiplet is studied. For the meson interaction either the pseudoscalar or pseudovector coupling is used. Predictions are compared with the experimental data. Besides these exch...

B?J/?(?,K) Decays within QCD Factorization Approach

We used QCD factorization for the hadronic matrix elements to show that the existing data, in particular the branching ratios BR ( ?J/?K) and BR ( ?J/??), can be accounted for this approach. We analyzed the decay within the framework of QCD factorization. We have complete calculation of the relevant hard-scattering kernels for twist-2 and twist-3. We calculated this decays in a special scale ...

Magnetic moment of ∆ baryon in QCD string approach

Magnetic moments (m.m.) of the ∆++ baryons is computed within the new approach based on the QCD string Hamiltonian. The string tension σ is only dimensionful quantity forming m.m. of both nucleon and ∆++, but color Coulomb and spin-spin interactions cancel each other in nucleon m.m. while in ∆++ they add coherently. The result μ∆++ = 4.36μN is in good agreement with experimental data. Recently ...
